Yell for Health is a brand new innovative website created to agitate for change in the United States health care system. It's still in its nascent stages, but Yell for Health's aim is to collect the stories of individuals who have been victimized by the inefficiency, greed, and waste of the current system in order to give voice to the millions of American men, women, and children who desperately need change in U.S. health care.
This is truly a people-powered movement for change. Yell For Health is not connected to any other organization and it does not represent any industry's interest. We are just regular people fighting for what we believe are basic human rights.
Please visit Yell For Health now and submit your story. You can also view current member's stories, check upcoming legislation, and keep up with the latest news. You are also invited to submit links and news. We need as much help as we can get adding content and keeping up with news and legislation. We are constantly adding new features and information, so keep us in your bookmarks.
Why Yell for Health?
According to the National Coalition on Health Care , the cost of health care has risen "two to five times the rate of inflation since 2000." What this means to citizens is rapidly increasing insurance premiums for individuals and businesses. The average American is now struggling to juggle the costs of their daily expenses, which now includes the cost of health care. "Average out-of-pocket costs for co-payments, coinsurance and deductibles rose 115 percent," since 2000, says the NCHC.This has led to the increase of Americans without insurance when "seven million people lost their coverage between 2000 and 2005."
Here at Yell For Health, we have to ask, "isn't there a better way?" We think there must be. As the richest and most powerful country in the world, how can it be that so many of our citizens are in crippling debt, unable to support themselves, for something as necessary as health care? It's time that the U.S Government got a real look at the lives of those who are affected by this system on a daily basis. Yell For Health invites you, the average American, to share your story and allow it to be heard by those with the capabilities and further, the responsibility, to make change and better the country.
