Miller v Dole still possible (NC-Sen)

Fri May 25, 2007 at 06:23:38 PM PDT

Amongst all the talk of primary challenges to capitulators, I hope that we do not forget those who stood up for our men and women in uniform and refused to vote for this bill.

One of the few Democrats who I am proud of after this week is Brad Miller, who has voted the right way on every Iraq bill from the start.

Tonight comes a new article about a possible senate run by Brad.

Miller, weighing run, says Dole will be a top target in '08

Miller, who has struggled to decide whether to take on Dole or stay in the House, said Democratic leaders have assured him that Dole will be one of 10 targeted Senate seats in the upcoming election.

"She still has the celebrity status that she had six years ago," Miller said Friday as he began a week of visiting various spots across North Carolina. "But I think people want more than just a celebrity. They are very dissatisfied with the direction of the nation's politics."

Although the article goes on to cite the Elon Useless poll that gave her a 52 percent approval rating (far from safe) amongst people who might or might not be voting, and then quotes extensively from what can only be described as a Dole Press Release, it is still good news.

"I need to make a decision," Miller said. "I'm probably tormenting my family, my friends and certainly my staff. It has taken me longer already than I thought it would."

The article isnt that long, so I wont go into too much details.  I will point out that Dole has only polled above 45% once against 4 possible opponents.  In the most recent poll conducted she had a plus 4 approval rating.

Against Brad she is only up 44 to 33.  That poll was done about 6 weeks ago.  Since then she has not helped herself, while Brad has gotten articles printed on him in various newspapers, including the Washington Post, USA Today and the New York Times.

I hope that you will check out Draft Brad Millerfor more information, and consider sending Brad another few bucks to convince him to decide to run as soon as possible.  The website has links and such to all of the polls, articles etc mentioned above, along with a whole lot more info about Brad, Dole and North Carolina politics.  I hope you will stop by.
